Akshay Kumar is the only star from the entertainment industry worldwide picked to carry the Olympic Torch for the 21st Winter Olympic Games to be held in Canada from February 12 to 28, 2010.Akshay brings big honor to the country as the Indian Ambassador for the 2010 Olympic Games.
The 42-year-old star is a martial arts expert and practitioner who was recently bestowed with the highest Japanese honor of the ‘katana.’ He has been the brand ambassador for Special Olympic, he shot for the ‘7 Deadly Arts’ for National Geographic Channel and his recent 1st invitational Open Karate Championship was a huge success.
Fifteen International celebrities have been invited to Canada for carrying the Olympic Torch which starts its long journey through Canada from Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, to the Games host city, Vancouver.The torch bearers will be introduced to the Canadian PM.Akshay Kumar will present the Canadian PM, Steven Harper, with a token of appreciation.
