Shah Rukh Khan was in Kolkata for the IPL match of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) against Deccan Chargers recently. The venue was Kolkata itself. However, the stadium was close to empty!
It is heard that the people of Kolkata have banned the IPL this time round and aren't flocking to the stadiums to applause their team. They have lost interest in the IPL and KKR after Sourav Ganguly was dropped and left out of the bids in an irreverant manner.
We are told, "Ganguly was the hero of 'KKR'. The people are crazy about him. KKR was all about Ganguly and not SRK. With him gone, the lustre has gone, and the people aren't going to be kind."
And even though KKR beat the Deccan Chargers on the pitch that evening, Shah Rukh still had to bear a loss, the loss of support from the people at large.
