Big B to starts Aishwarya Rai College soon

Without any delay, Amitabh Bachchan wants to start the girls’ college named after his daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The foundation stone was laid three years back in 2008 in the Daulatpur village on January 27.


Many politicians like Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav, former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu and former CM of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah had attended the function. The Daulatpur village committee has handed over the land to Amitabh Bachchan Sewa Samiti (ABSS), a newly formed organization.

At first the responsibility for construction of the college was given to Jaya Prada's Foundation, Nishtha Foundation but now it was confirmed that Amitabh Bachchan Sewa Sansthan will construct the college. Initially, it will have classes up 12 and gradually it will have upto degree level. Village head Amit Singh’s son will be the secretary of the ABSS.

The construction work will start this year and end by next year. A cheque of Rs. five lakh from Amitabh Bachchan for the construction of the college has also been given to the Sansthan, Yadav said.
