Salman Khan on Friday came out in full support of actor Saif Ali Khan, who allegedly assaulted a South African businessman and his father-in-law at a Mumbai restaurant.
"Even the press yesterday was all for the other guy. They didn't even bother to ask what happened to Saif. Did Saif got wacked first or not? We should have waited for Saif to come out and say what he had to say," Salman told reporters here on Friday.
"We are actors and we have been in the industry for the longest time. Saif has been in the industry for 18 years. We know the guy," he said.
"Always the actors have been blamed, why so? It has always been us," said the DABANGG star, who himself got involved in a lot of controversies throughout his career.
Saif landed himself in a royal mess after serious allegations of assault on the businessman and his father-in-law in an upscale restaurant in Mumbai on Tuesday night were lodged against him.
Iqbal Sharma, who is a South African businessman, said he was assaulted and got a broken nose while his 68-year-old father-in-law was not spared as well as the actor rained blows on them and hurled abuses.
The case was registered against Saif in the Colaba police station under section 325 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for allegedly punching Sharma and his father-in-law at Mumbai's plush Hotel on Tuesday night.
He was arrested on Wednesday night and then released on bail.
