Aishwarya to support AIDS campaign at Cannes

This is going to be Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s 11th consecutive Cannes visit and the new mother is quite excited about her 11th visit as this year it’s going to be special.

Besides walking the red carpet, Ash would be attending a charity dinner to raise funds for the cause of AIDS. The former beauty queen will be at the French Riviera on May 24 and 25 to attend the American Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR) dinner and later she will be present at the after-party representing L`Oreal Paris.

This is a traditional dinner held to raise funds for the AIDS victims. Ash will walk the red carpet on May 25th. "11 glorious years... The journey so far has been remarkable and truly memorable. This year, I am especially privileged as I also get to lend my support to a very important cause at the amfAR dinner, by helping raise funds for the fight against AIDS, at the amfAR auction.

"It makes me proud that L`Oreal Paris sponsors and supports our fight against AIDS through this special amfAR event at Cannes," she said in a statement.

AmfAR is one of the world`s leading non-profit organizations devoted to the support AIDS research, HIV Prevention, Treatment education and the advocacy of sound AIDS related public policy.

Along with Aishwarya, Gwen Stefani, Milla Jovovich, Doutzen Kroes, Natasha Poly, Julianna Margulies and Diane Keaton will represent L`Oreal Paris at the amfAR.

Hollywood celebrities like Alec Baldwin, Kenneth Cole, Milutin Gatsby, Michel Hazanavicius and Berenice Bejo, designer Karl Lagerfeld, Hugh Laurie, Carine Roitfeld and Harvey Weinstein are some of the other well-known celebs who will be at the amfAR dinner.
