The latest buzz in tinsel town these days is that Amitabh Bachchan was offered to play the antagonistic role in “Endhiran” but he refused to play the baddie since all the movies that he played in the villain’s role were flops.
Director Shankar in an interview to a popular television channel, had revealed that the antagonist role in ‘Endhiran’ was initially offered to Amitabh Bachchan. However, the actor refused the offer as he felt it would not be accepted by the audience. Moreover, several of Big B’s films in which he had played the negative role bombed at the box office.
Shankar revealed, “Yes, I initially wanted to cast Amitabh Bachchan. But he refused to do the villain’s role since he did not want to play the role of baddie in his daughter in law, Aishwarya Rai’s film”.
Shankar said that when Rajinikanth was told that his dear friend Amitabh Bachchan is being considered for the role, he was happy and encouraged the director to cast him.
Later Shankar approched Ben Kingsley who played the role of Gandhi in Gandhi film. He too refused and then the role went to Danny Denzgoppa finally.
