Due to protests by Telugu Desam Party members over some scenes and dialogues allegedly projecting former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and actor N.T. Rama Rao in a poor light, maverick director Ram Gopal Varma has agreed to delete those scenes from his Rakta Charitra which released on Friday.
The maker's assurance came after TDP activists stopped screening of the movie at a few theatres in Anantapur, Hindupur, Eluru, Visakhapatnam, Karimnagar and other towns, alleging that RGV projected their party founder as a villain who encouraged factional violence by inducting Paritala Ravi into the party.
The party members gathered outside theatres, raised slogans against RGV and burnt his effigy. Some protestors attacked theatres in Visakhapatnam and Karimnagar. They also demanded a ban on the movie.
