The King’s Speech Wins Oscar Best Picture


The King’s Speech wins the Oscar Best Picture Award. It beats out The Social Network, The Fighter, Black Swan, The Kids are All Right, 127 Hours, True Grit, Toy Story 3 and Winter’s Bone!

The King’s Speech had 12 nominations and ended the night winning four big awards. The movie about the British Royals also claimed Best Director for Tom Hooper; Best Actor for Colin Firth for his portrayal of the British king.

The best picture award was accepted by its producers, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman and Gareth Unwin.
