Golden Globe: Clooney, Streep bag best actor, actress



George Clooney and Meryl Streep walked away with the Golden Globe trophies for best performance by an actor and an actress respectively in a motion picture – drama.

Clooney won the best actor golden trophy for “The Descendents”, beating Leonardo DiCaprio for “J. Edgar”, Michael Fassbender for “Shame”, Ryan Gosling for “The Ides Of March” and Brad Pitt for “Moneyball”.

Streep received the best actress award for “The Iron Lady”. She was competing for the top award with Glenn Close for “Albert Nobbs”, Viola Davis for “The Help”, Rooney Mara for “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” and Tilda Swinton for “We Need To Talk About Kevin”.

Meanwhile, Jean Dujardin was awarded the Golden Globe trophy for best performance by an actor in a motion picture – musical or comedy category for “The Artist”. Michelle Williams won the award for best performance by an actress in a motion picture – musical or comedy – for “My Week With Marilyn”.
