M.F. Husain, the Picasso of India, the man who had a passion for drawing virile horses and romancing Bollywood women with his colours, passed away early this morning at the Royal Brompton Hospital at London.
The painter, who was admitted to the specialty hospital with heart ailments, passed away after a heart attack at 2.30 a.m. local time.
His demise is all the more sorrowful since it occured in a foreign country. Husain left India for good after facing repeated lawsuits and opposition from right wing groups for his unconventional paintings.
Husain renounced his Indian citizenship and accepted Qatar's, to escape troubles in his home country. M.F. Husain was also known for his obsessive depiction of Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit in his paintings. The nonagenarian (born on 17.9.1915) recently expressed his fondness for Anushka Sharma after watching Band Baaja Baaraat.
