Bollywood's new commer Prachi Desai is closely associated with Ekta Kapoor. Prachi kicked off her career with Ekta's daily soap, 'Kasam Se', which made her a household name. Now, she is acting in ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI, which is also being produced by Ekta Kapoor.
When we asked Prachi if Ekta Kapoor was the reason why Prachi agreed to do OUATIM, she replied saying, "OUATIM came to me when ROCK ON had just released. In fact, then I was told by the production team that they would like to meet me for OUATIM, neither Ekta nor me was keen about it. None of us wanted to be taken for granted. I did this film because I didn't want to miss out such an excellent role."
So does Prachi take professional help from Ekta? "I never consult Ekta for scripts. I don't think that would be right on my part or she would even want to do that. She is so busy herself. Now that she is family, we just don't let work and family mix at all. Also, I feel you have to make your own choices, so that even if you regret, you don't blame somebody else and if you succeed, you take credit for it," states Prachi.
OUATIM also stars Emraan Hashmi, Ajay Devgn and Kangana Ranaut. It releases on 30th July 2010.
