A leopard strayed into the bungalow of Bollywood actor Hema Malini on Friday morning, triggering panic.
The leopard, believed to have come from the adjoining Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP), was spotted by a security guard on the premises in Dindoshi area of northwest Mumbai.
The actor was not at home at the time of the incident.
Neighbours immediately alerted the park authorities who sent a team equipped with tranquilizers and a cage to trap the wild cat, said Chief Conservator of Forests S A Thorat.
The park, spread over 100 square km, has over five dozen leopards and many other wild animals.
Leopards often stray into houses in the neighbourhood including the Film City, Aarey Milk Colony, Dahisar, Borivli, Kandivli, Malad, Goregaon, Mulund and Bhandup.
